Everyone who knew and loved Nick will be, like us, trying to come to terms with the sudden loss of someone that was a very special part of our lives. 
Nick was, quite simply, one of our closest and dearest friends. To be honest, we can’t quite believe he won’t be greeting us again at his front door with his signature G&T and something wonderful cooking in the kitchen…..
Michèle and Nick throw parties at the ring of a door bell, so our friendship has always felt celebratory. Nick just celebrated life and we were lucky enough to be around for the fun. 
Didn’t matter whether it was in St Leonards or Fara San Martino, Italy; whether you were family, friends or neighbours (their Italian neighbours absolutely loved Nick), he would never let a glass go empty or anyone go hungry. And his ‘morning after’ breakfasts and Bloody Mary ‘hair of the dog’s were legendary.
We loved his laughter; we loved his fantastic tales - he was a wonderful raconteur; we shared his love of travel; we admired his extraordinary ability to get us all home no matter what country we were in; but most of all, we admired his extraordinary love for friends and family - and the way he made each one of us feel so special.
